Star Trek Tactics Heroclix – Release Date

Greetings HeroClix Fans! Today we continue to explore the Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics set by first visiting the movie Star Trek IV: The Voyager Home.  We look at a former Klingon vessel taken over by Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise, the H.M.S. Bounty.

 

The H.M.S. Bounty possesses the Indomitable ability as well as a 7 range with two targets.  Also, the H.M.S. Bounty possesses a trait called Whalesong, allowing her to be given a double power action.  Until the beginning of your next turn, each ship that makes an attack within 6 squares rolls a d6 after the attack resolves.  On a result of 1-3, deal the ship 1 unavoidable damage.   The H.M.S. Bounty begins play by slingshotting around the sun to go back in time in the form of two opening clicks of Hypersonic Speed.  For the rest of her dial, the H.M.S. Bounty has Plasticity,allowing her to tie down opposing vessels or have a better chance of breaking away to reposition herself to better use the rest of her powers.  For the first half of her dial, in her attack slot, the H.M.S. Bounty utilizes her range and 2 targets with Energy Explosion, while the back halve of her dial lets the her attack all ships within 4 squares with Pulse Wave. Defensively, for her first three clicks, the H.M.S. Bounty uses her cloaking devise in the form of Super Senses, switching mid-dial for three clicks to damage reducing Toughness, and closes out her dial with two clicks of Regeneration.  On her damage slot, the H.M.S. Bounty shows her crews willingness to alter time in the form of two clicks of Probability Control, Captain Kirk’s rebellious side as he ignores orders to do what he feels is right with three clicks of Outwit, and closes out her dial with three clicks of Support, to show her crew successfully saving the future by delivering their cargo home. The H.M.S. Bounty comes in at 125 points, and this unique vessel has the Federation keyword to show where her crew’s loyalties lie, but no team ability as she was a stolen vessel.  An aggressive power set and stats means the H.M.S. Bounty will be welcome on most forces. Also today, we take a look back into Star Trek: The Original Series to visit one of the most infamous vessels in the Klingon Empire, the I.K.S. Gr’oth.

Protector of the Universe!

Greetings HeroClix Fans!

Today we turn the spotlight to a character who was originally assigned to spy on Earth for the Kree Empire. Along the way, he became one of Earth’s greatest protectors and his death was mourned by virtually every hero on the planet. Please welcome Captain Marvel!

 

Captain Marvel hits the map at 141 points and also has a trait, Fresh From the Negative Zone! This trait boosts Captain Marvel’s attack and defense values by +1 if he is brought into play via the Alter Ego ability found on Marvel HeroClix: Hulk Rick Jones. If Captain Marvel is added to a force through the Alter Ego ability, he begins his dial on click number six and has a point value of 48 points.

Running Shot on Captain Marvel’s first click allows him move into position then make a ranged attack against those who threaten his adopted home! Defensively, Captain Marvel has the Indomitable combat ability and Impervious on his first click to respectively ignore pushing damage and soak up most or all of the damage from any attacks.

Once Captain Marvel has taken damage, he switches from Impervious to Invulnerability for his next two clicks as his defensive power of choice. On click two, Captain Marvel maintains Running Shot and also gains Energy Explosion. Mid-dial, Captain Marvel changes tactics gain and his powerful Nega-Bands grant him Pulse Wave for two clicks. In his damage slot, Captain Marvel’s Cosmic Awareness kicks in and he also gains two clicks of Probability Control. Defensively, the former Kree captain switches from Invulnerability to Super Senses to help him evade attacks altogether!

Marvel HeroClix: Galactic Guardians preview -Blastaar

Lord of the Negative Zone!

Greetings HeroClix Fans!For today’s Marvel HeroClix: Galactic Guardians preview, we travel to the Negative Zone to visit with the cosmic warlord Blastaar!

A power-hungry conqueror, Blastaar possesses a range of seven and can target two characters with his attacks.  Blastaar begins play utilizing Running Shot to get to a position for the attack on his first two clicks.  Defensively, his battle armor (Invulnerability) protects him from damage while the Indomitable combat ability allows him to use Willpower and ignore pushing damage! As a self-proclaimed king of the Negative Zone, Blastaar also has Leadership at the start of his dial.

A native of the planet Baluur, Blastaar possesses the ability to shoot concussive blasts of energy.  This ability is represented via The Living Bomb Burst, a special power on the front half of Blastaar’s dial.  With this power, all damage dealt by Blastaar causes knock back.

Avengers Movie Heroclix Spoiler/ Preview – Thor

From Asgardian to Avenger!

Greetings HeroClix Fans!

Our series of previews for Marvel’s Avengers movie continues today by spotlighting the heir to Asgard’s throne and the favored son of Odin. Please welcome the mighty God of Thunder, Thor!

Thor hits the battle map with a range of seven and Charge on his first three clicks. For his first two clicks he also has Super Strength and Impervious! Starting on click three, Thor switches tactics and Super Strength becomes Quake for two clicks. He also picks up one click of Flurry. Defensively, Thor relies upon the protection of his Asgardian Armor (Invulnerability) for three clicks. 

Thor also has a special power, Rage of a Wayward Son, in his damage slot on the top half of his dial. When Thor starts a turn adjacent to an opposing character of 75 points or more, he can make a close combat attack as a free action at the start of the turn if he is able. He also gains Battle Fury for that turn as part of the special power.

On the back half of Thor’s dial he again changes his movement and attack strategies, this time to two clicks of Running Shot and Pulse Wave. Defensively, Thor switches from Invulnerability to two clicks of Toughness. Flurry makes an appearance again on Thor’s second-to-last click.

Lord of the Rings Heroclix Preview -Mr. Underhill

Greetings HeroClix Fans!

We continue our tour of the shire with the Hobbit responsible for bearnig the burden of the One Ring.  You my know him as Frodo Baggins but while on the road he goes by the name of “Mr. Underhill”!

 “Mr. Underhill” begins play moving unhindered and sticking to the shadows thanks to his We Stay Together, We Stay Off the Road! special power.  This special power enables “Mr. Underhill”to use Stealth, Phasing/Teleport, and the Carry ability so not only can he maneuver friendly figures to where they’ll do the most good, he can also potentially block line of fire to the carried figure and hide them from sight!
